Question: Do you think the DL haul for UM over the last couple of years is Alabama lite?

2nd question: Do you think the DL is the reason for the success of Alabama under Saban or is it another position group. My perception of Alabama is that they win because of defense.

DL and LB's at Alabama. Big RB's and the ability to pound the ball help too.

I think other than LSU and possibly Florida State you guys have some legit DL the last couple of years. I think what hurts you guys will be depth for a couple of more years until you develop them. We were not as deep this year, but usually we are 8 to 12 deep on the DL and we just rotate them and wear the opponent down. The all defense mindset and only being six deep this year, along with the inability to execute a forward pass, cost us a National Championship. You guys have recruited well, seems you just don't have it all together yet. All you need to do is beat Urban once really bad and he will develop a 'condition' and quit. When he is not King of the conference castle he will fold like a cheap card table.

the great DL can disrupt the offense for sure but you need those athletic LB to clean up what the DL can't cover.

Last years defense was great but seemed to be heavy on the DL+DB side ...
given a choice you might want DL then LB then DB in order of "greatness"

UM signed about 4 LBs yesterday I believe, right? And they are some seriously good recruits to.
Also with getting Solomon and pairing him with Gary, we're talking about some nasty D for years to come.
