trying to not lose the game on offense. It was very conservative and relied on their defense to win it.

Good game and Clemson earned it. Not saying they were necessarily the better team but Saban/Sarkisian didn't trust Hurst to throw the ball except on rare occasions. It reminded me of a Lloyd ball type of game.

Bama had like 50 more yards of penalties. 6 more penalties

Most of them came on the final drive by Clemson

When Scarborough left the game I knew there was no way we could win. Late in games, he takes over and would have moved the chains and probably scored another touchdown or two. Without him, we couldn't convert on third downs and our defense was on the field too long. Clemson was a one man show. Most of their big plays were on illegal pick plays, but everyone knows a Big 12 official will not make that call, in the ACC and SEC they will. Overall I thought Sark called a much better game than Kiffin. I think Hurts did OK also, he didn't lose the game for us and had no turnovers. No excuses, you have to win. Not a Big Dabo guy, but they got it done.

You guys can't complain about the pick plays. Your DBs were getting away with WAYYYY too much contact on the receivers the entire game, so Clemson had to up the physical level. Seemed fair to me.

You're taking the easy way out BT. Your first sentence is ridiculous. You still had a GREAT opportunity to win that game after big Bo went out. After he scored his 2nd TD early in the 2nd qtr., on his last 4 rushing attempts of the first half he gained 5 yards. Before leaving in the 2nd half he ran 6 times for 17 yards. He takes over late cuz normally Bama wears down the opposition. Did not happen vs. Clemson.
Clemson a one man show. True, without the Heart & Physical fortitude of Watson Clemson doesn't keep battling & put themselves in a spot to win....but the clutch catches of the receiving corp down the stretch were off the charts. I'm not a fan of the so called "pick plays" & am disappointed they are & were allowed...the first one to Williams was real blatant. The second one Fitzpatrick played it wrong & actually pulled the receiver into himself & effectively blocked out the other DB.
Disagree with your OC assessment. 6 times Bama went 3 & out. Not enough timing routes for Hurts to throw, not enough designed runs for Hurts.

Bottom line I think you have to blame this loss on the fact that Watson hung so damn tough when it would have been real easy for him to pack it in.

Cant complain about the picks, especially when bama was getting away with blatant targeting hits.
Shouldve went to Howard more often. He's a difference maker, just like he was in the NC last year.
Scar broke a bone in his left leg in the 3rd qtr. He was a big lose. Harris and i forget the other guys name, couldn't move the chains like he could.

Look at that last drive by Bama. Opened up the play calling and Hurst made some great plays.

Bama felt confident in their defense. Clemson/Watson gutted it out and made some great plays. They won but my OP was that Bama didn't want Hurst to lose it for them whereas when losing their rb they should have relied a little more on him. He was the guy scoring for them in the 2nd half. It was always some rollout type of pass.

Clemson won it but Bama played it close to the vest. Just my opinion.

Limited on offense... .Defense was great until they played a real QB.. over 500 yards... 35 points..

Because of our inability on offense, the Bama defense physically wore out in the second half. Give Dabo and staff credit as that was the game plan. That, and truly great players and performances by Watkns and the wide receiver Mike Williams were the difference late in the game and when it most mattered.
