Is it conceivable he makes one more epic walk from San Diego, doesn't bring a soul with him this time (aside from his wife), takes $4-5 million with another $8 million going towards the best staff money can buy? Including a few coach-in-waiting type whiz kids. Eddy O North if you will.
He'd be plug-and-play in a bunch of other areas, including recruiting Michigan and Ohio and relation w/ boosters/former players/etc. I think much of the fanbase still has PTSD about bringing in an unknown again so they might actually go for it.
And don't forget, he's always boasted about that famously small ego oh his...
