There are 10 guys gone from their 2-deep because of the NFL, transfers and the Ingham County DA.

You won't see McDowell, Nicholson, Lyke, Copeland, Vance, King, Corley, Lukusa, Reschke and Robertson. They lost their entire starting defensive backfield. This isn't a planned for type of departure. They were all expected to start.

What is left are high-effort guys who are very young. They are insanely thin at every position.

Their defensive backfield is incredibly vulnerable. And they are still playing press-man on the outside. Their linebackers are playing crazy downhill as that is the only way they can create pressure. They have to create pressure to protect their secondary.

Iowa's play calling was so obvious and played right into Sparty's run-blitz on early down approach that it was almost stupid. Little to no play action on first down to exploit the Sparty secondary.

IF we attack their back 4 with play action and slants with our +++ athletes we should be able really move on them. If we call plays like Iowa did, then we will be in for a dogfight.

Here is their depth chart. You will see they are as young or younger than us. Except for the talent and speed part.
