If we had beaten Notre Dame but the rest of the season still played out the same way, we very likely would be in the exact same bowl vs the same opponent. Georgia probably goes to the playoff in place of ND, and LSU takes Georgia’s spot and ND takes LSU’s spot. An 11-1 Michigan team playing at noon on December 29th vs the 4th best team in the SEC. Maybe they flip Florida for UCF. Regardless, they need to fix this and give themselves more options when it comes to the bowl games. They’ve locked themselves into a situation that produces matchups nobody is all that interested in.
