Here comes some Friday Night B1G football (barf) ........

Give it to the MAC schools for they could use the Money. I don't want a short week and then a follow up longer week. Not big on who we get on the short week and then the long one. The computer will screw this up for sure like in the early "90s with PSU always getting a BYE before us for many years. It's ben fixe but tell the Comish to take his ideas so he can get more salary, to go elsewhere. GBGB"74

That actually is a great idea.
I'd love to see CMU and WMU play friday night games.
Good way to get the cfb weekend going.

Yeah, glad UM isn't going to be part of that.
Which teams will be though?

For Friday night football to work, you really need a team in a pretty urban area, that draws their fans from fairly close.

Maryland, Rutgers, Minnesota, and Northwestern would do it. Probably Wisconsin too. Gene Smith (who is a doofus) is indicating Ohio State would do it, which honestly surprises me, but that's Smith for you.

Those seem to be the best options.

Labor Day Friday would be different --- that's not quite a normal weekend, quite a few people take that Friday off anyway. More schools become options on that day. OSU starts the 2017 season at Indiana: I could definitely see that game on Friday. Especially since OSU hosts Oklahoma the next week, gives them an extra day off.

I am thankful Manuel is our AD. I shudder to think what Dave Brandon would have done.

A Michigan game on a Friday night would be awful. Game day traffic can already be a bear on Saturdays . . . I can't imagine trying to fight it on a Friday afternoon during rush hour. And just having to go to work the same day as the game, that would be brutal. It's embarrassing that our commissioner would stoop to this.

WAY past time to dump this jerk... Never liked him from the start and I don't believe for a second that he ever had the Big Ten in his heart whatsoever...

I don't hate Delany --- but he's been Commissioner for 27 (!!!!!) years now.

There's a reason we have term limits for our Presidents. Time for some fresh blood.

Hilarious. Brandon would never ever say NO to a new marketing gimmick.

The bigger issue is why Delaney didn't put out a behind the scenes inquiry.

Delaney was taken off my Xmas list when he went radio silence over that whole camp thing and can eat a bag of dicks. So glad Manuel flipped him the bird.

Sparty agreed to participate, as long as their Friday game is Labor Day Weekend. So, I don't think they really agreed to anything since they have played on that Friday in each of the past 6 seasons.

Yeah, I love that they play on that Friday since I'm with family that weekend and don't have to worry about fighting over the TV when Michigan plays on Saturday. This year I got to talk the entire weekend about how Furman put a scare into Sparty, HAA!!

I thought that the unwritten rule was to leave Fridays alone so as not to take away from the high school programs. I heard that Penn State said "no" to this as well.

“We are supportive of it,” (Ohio State athletic director Gene) Smith said of move. “We’ve battled for a long time to try to be respectful obviously for high school football. But the reality is what we need to do for our television partners and what we need to do for our revenue stream, we needed to consider some different options.”

In regards to athletics...who would win this matchup?

Money vs. Father Time?

Gene Smith is basically the OSU Dave Brandon, only he hired a better football coach. For both guys, the fans are nothing but a cash cow to be milked, and milked, and milked some more...

In addition to that, Gene Smith is also a magician. I still can't believe he somehow survived the Tressel/tattoos/NCAA mess in 2011-2012.

I thought that also. Then I heard that the midwestern highschool coaches association (i guess thats what you call it) all agreed to sharing friday nights, on Steve Gorman sports radio. But then, wisconsin highschool coaches came and said that they had never agreed to it.

Good for them for speaking up.

Friday games are a nightmare for folks to get to unless they are burning a vacation day. They make it impossible to have official recruiting visits for that game, in most cases. They take people away from being able to go to high school games. Just a lot of negatives.

As far as Gene Smith....yeah Gene, there's not enough revenue now in college football. Really need to make more money for some reason.

If Michigan is against it then Dantonio must be all in right? I went to the spring game this year on a Friday night and the traffic was an absolute bear
