According to reports, Michigan redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Chris Fox has retired from playing football because of medical issues.

Fox came to Michigan as four-star prospect from Ponderosa (CO) according to 247Sports. He redshirted in 2013 after coming off a knee injury and played in the season opener against Appalachian State in 2014.

Reports state that Fox will now be a student assistant for the football team at Michigan.

Good for Chris. Not much of a story here because he is staying on with the program in some capacity so the whining and finger pointing that fat Pipkins did can't begin in the media. American football is an extremely violent and physically punishing game and there comes a time to call it quits. Most of us who played in college and even in high school really didn't start feeling the effects until you reach your 40's. As far as the scholarship I do not know enough about how that works, however, I am sure he will be allowed to finish his degree in some capacity at UM. Even Norfleet was given the opportunity to get a real educational plan at UM by staying, however, it was his choice to depart and continue to play football.
