There are people on this board bitching about Harbaugh from his coaching mistakes to his after game rant at the shitty officiating yesterday. Let me say this:
#1-Cannot compare him and Urban Meyer. Why? Meyer walked into a LOADED roster that Fickell managed to go 6-6 with. He then stacked upon that with his recruiting. Harbaugh is still playing in year 2 of his career at UM with Hoke's players. Some of them have been good BUT Hoke left some serious holes to fill in terms of athleticism. Harbaugh is filling those quickly with guys like McDoom, Evans, Crawford, Asiasi, etc. he needs this year to get his full system rolling.
#2- Harbaugh is right now 20-5 in two years at UM and that is damn good. I expect he will be 21-5 after winning the bowl game and we will. We lost two games this year by 1 point and the other in double over time
#3- Yes, Harbaugh has immediately closed the gap between OSU and UM. Last year 42-13 drubbing at home and yes they had an NFL roster but they are gone now. This year a double over time loss to a team that is young and still has a loaded roster. Harbaugh has also loaded the roster in which last year was his only real full recruiting class. Michigan is now competing with OSU big time again and will beat them at some point. probably sooner rather than later.
#4- Who cares about Harbaugh's rant at the officiating!!! he is sticking up for his team and he is correct because it did infleunce the outcome. Calling out the assholes who officiate these games is LONG OVER DUE. Harbaugh had the balls to do it. Every official on Saturday is from Ohio and the lead official was fired by the Big Ten in 2002 for incompetence. WTF were they doing calling this game !!!!!!!!!!

Point #4 is right on the money.
Not that I don't agree with everything else you said. lol.
I believe this year may very well be tuos last time in a while that they'll beat UM.
It'll go something like how Urban lyers tenur at UF went and his games against bama. He has success at first against Saban, but that didn't last long.

The truth in your post title does not exclude the fact that he has made very questionable decisions in 3 of his five losses many of which have been posted here by a lot of fans. And it does not exclude the fact that our o line has barely improved against good teams since he arrived. Not does it exclude the fact that his unnecessary whining after the game was a bad look for his players and recruits especially in this day and age. Nor does it exclude the fact that he was out coached by Kirk Ferentz.
He is a GREAT coach and we are lucky to have him. That doesn't mean there aren't truths to some disappointing developments both in game and from a wider view.

Out coached by Ferentz? Yeah right!!! How about this. No matter how good of a coach you are, your players have to execute your game plan and make plays. I guess James Franklin out coached Urban Meyer this year because he schemed that field goal block just right and Urban failed to practice protection on the field goal unit. He has been in ANN ARBOR 2 YEARS and really had only ONE true Harbaugh recruiting class. He did not recruit the OL and they have played a hell of alot better than they ever did or would have under Hoke!!!!! Next year will be Harbaugh's true Michigan team and look at the impact HIS players have had already. Look for Peters to unseat Speight next year

Actually, what he said EXCLUDES all of thst horsehockey you just said.

Do most Michigan fans want Speight replaced? Except for the 2 int's I thought he played pretty well considering he was hurt. The 4th down throw in the first OT for the TD was an NFL quality throw. He played well all year.

1. Going to be tough to unseat Speight. Not impossible but Peters will have to earn it. I think it's going to be a monumental battle next year because Peters is one heck of a thrower against the experience and pocket experience of Speight.

2. I don't have any problem with Harbaugh laying into the officials especially after the recent disclosures. Big Ten should get criticized.

3. Time for some serious ready made OL/rb infusion.

Completely agree with #1, this was a team in utter disarray when Harbaugh took over in contrast with what Meyer inherited with Braxton Miller, et al. I was at Hoke's last home game vs. Maryland, the team was a disaster on special teams, in the running game, passing the ball, linebacker, etc. If Hoke had come back, UM would have been a 4-8 type of team in 2015 at best (losses at Minnesota, Indiana, Penn State, would have been assured along with their other three losses) and probably barely .500 this year

We had no viable QB when Harbaugh took over last year. At the UM spring game last year UM could not move the ball a yard and could not complete a forward pass. By the end of Harbaugh's first year we had arguably the hottest Big 10 QB whom Harbaugh personally recruited for a one year stint. I could repeat a similar pattern at a number of other positions (WRs and OL come right to mind). Speight is a perfect example of doing a lot with little, he was an after thought as a recruit and has developed, arguably, into a second team All Big 10 QB.

UM has done well with a mediocre line that, like their linebackers last year, had lots of high school press clippings, but never developed beyond mediocrity. That's not necessarily Harbaugh's fault, given his track record with other lines, it's likely a talent and mental deficit. The running back situation is much the same. It's getting better, but we had Green, a five star RB leave this summer because, again, he simply wasn't good or perhaps tough enough. Harbaugh has brought a huge shift in the culture here, when he has his talent in place, I anticipate even better things than 20-5!
