Harbaugh 18-3 so far. You can point to a lot of things that have

contributed to his success at UM. It's a multitude of factors.

That being said...look at the qb position and the reduction of turnover's. The Utah game as an example of the opposite. The punt at the end of MSU game as a non qb TO. Take away TO's and you are going to have a chance to win especially if you have decent talent.

That is what Harbaugh has essentially done....limit turnover's to cause this dramatic turnaround. This is what Harbaugh has done to clean up the program so quickly.

Harbaugh's and Fisch's work with Rudock and Speight has been phenomenal. Couldn't be better. Rudock looked like a different player the second half of the season. Speight looks like a completely different player the last two weeks following the bye.

I have two beefs with gameday Harbaugh in his 21 games.
1) He blew the punt coverage vs. MSU last year. Say what you want about the dropped snap. The punt coverage/blocking setup was a huge mistake
2) The defense was flat yesterday and the second half play calling was pathetic compared to half one. If our gameplan and mindset half two matched half one we would have put up 50, were good enough to do so, and the game would have been over midway through the third quarter.

No mention of good pad level? I think that's key... ;)

RE: punt production last year. I think Baxter made those calls and I don't recall a lot of tears being shed when he left.

The punt protection should have been different but dropping the football is going to screw up any alignment. If I go into the victory formation and the qb fumbles the snap then would anyone blame the coach?

A punter muffing the snap should be responsible for 95% of any problems that arise.

You should watch the third quarter again. Our playcalling was hardly any different than in the first half. On our first drive of the half we were in business, moving quickly down the field, when we went for the killshot (the wheel route to Higdon) and Speight happened to throw an INT. On our next possession we then drove about 70 yards and kicked a FG. We had Speight throwing deep from our own endzone that possession.

It was only in the fourth quarter, after we went up 30-10, that we started to ease off the gas.
