  • First i will point to the top 10 scoring teams
1.Oklahoma
2. Clemson
3. Alabama
4. Utah State
5. Houston
6. UCF
7. Ohio State
8. Memphis
9. Ohio
10. West Virginia

  1. They all run the spread l, but now days if you have been paying attention to the NFL lately, these offenses are closer to “Pro Style” then what we are running at times, because they are all in shot gun etc and running, spreading defenses out, thats why you're seeing record stats and record scoring games this season in the NFL.
  2. We do as well but the Big difference is they (top 10 offenses) hardly Ever go to 2 TE sets and outside of 3rd or 4th and inches would ever see these teams trot out 3 Tight ends.
  3. They all usually use 1 Tight End on most of their offensive plays, variation of them flex out off the Line, behind the left or right tackle acting as an H-Back to block on running plays.
  4. Their Tight Ends like I wrote above are flexed out and they play more like WR’s that can block better with the weight they have etc, then a traditional Tight end.
  5. Idk why Harbaugh continues fo value Tight Ends like he has, if the tight ends we are using is a variation of Jake Butt and Vernon davis, then that’s understandable but with guys like Mckeon and Gentry (who both seem like wonderful young men and respresenting UM off the field greatly), they just arent cutting it. Both Gentry and McKeon are both below Average when it comes to their speed and running routes, Gentry is probably a 3.5/10 when it comes to blocking while McKeon is a 6-7/10. They just dont do nearly enough to warrent as much playing time as they are receiving. Eubanks should be the only TE that plays while he too is an Avg blocker he can get behind the defense and actually get open on his routes he has to run as a Tight End.

  • Harbaugh has to understand that is an outdated scheme, playing Tight Ends to establish mismatches like they once did. You play tight ends like that so that personnel wise you can catch them off guard with a big run or pass, for example. They’ll run tight end sets to see what the defense does personnel wise, if they bring in a Linebacker to stop Mich’s run game then they can check into a pass, and vice versa.
  • However the problem with that theory is guys are becoming stronger and faster at the LB or Rover postion so that they dont have to take out that LB for a safety. That’s literally what Khaleke Hudson’s positon was created for mostly and most teams ESPECIALLY OSU have the players to do that and match our Tight Ends. Our Tight ends MOST of the time dont’t get open becuase they dont have the speed or good enough route running skills in order to get open.
  • Michigan right now has 3 of the best Wide Receiver trio in his the country and Definitely in the Big ten IMO. Michigan has been wasting their talents and time being on the bench imo.
  • There is ZERO reasons as to why Jake McCurry should receive 9 snaps in this rivalry game. He also seems like like a great young man, great representative to the university. However, they just dont have enough talent to be playing in a game like this.
  • They recruited all of these Wide Receiver talent only to run and have a TE focus Saturday and most of the games this season.
  • Nico Collins, Donovan Peoples Jones and Tarik Black should always play Together unless one or all of them are tired on that play or possession.
  • With the new Transfer rules and everything, it doesnt take much for a kid to not be happy with the role he has right now and going forward.
  • Thoes 3 WRs are nasty and would Tear any secondary apart if given the chance, and thats not including oliver Martin, Ronnie Bell and grant Perry.
  • With Shea or D McCaf running the show this offense could be deadly if given the chance in the bowl game and into next season etc.
  • Either its a faster TE’s like Erik All, Eubanks etc, or its no tight end esp no 2 and 3 TE sets... or its inches to go to get a first down or Touchdown!!

  • The offense is being held back by stubborness imo and if the correct changes are made this offseason the offense will be in the top 5 next year and also looking forward to a playoff berth again.

  • So everyone will say why are you talking about/Complaining about offense when we scored 39 points offense is not our problem etc etc..

However 1 Td came from a fumble at OSU’s 10 yard line and another came in Garbage time that 13 points, which makes it 26 points and I’ll point to the fact that from the look of things Saturday, Michigan could have scored 50+ and Easily imo.

Ive watched 7/10 top offensive teams for my job and ive watched the top 3 on my own, multiple times just becuase i love college Football, so I have had plenty of time to watch and analyze what those teams are doing so well offensively. Also I have watched this osu game 3 times, just to see what all went wrong to help me come to this conclusion, but not just this game, I have seen this trend all season, and its just not smart.

They need to stop it with the Tight end sets anthing more then 1 Tight End is a waste of a play, lol im joking but if it’against osu or any eite team it literally is. More WR’s less TE’s and having Evans in the passing game like they did Saturday is also something they should keep doing.

This team/program isn’t that far off from beating osu and being elite. They just need to make a couple of changes, continue to recruit speed, speed and more speed and with Gary and Winovich gone, make sure the D-Line is working hard to beome great pass rushers as well making sure you get a true 8 man rotation, because this year we really didnt have that, Chase and Gary wanted to play at all times and imo they got tired towards the end of games whoch affected their pass rishing abilitites. When Gary was hurt with Uche and the rest of the dline rotating a lot they were extremely productive, because they were fresh like we were able to do in 2016.

I still believe in this team and staff and I really want to see them finally get to their goals BIg championship and playoffs and I believe they will sooner rather then later!!

Go Blue!!
