two former UVA football coaches. Both agreed that UVA are indeed tied to VA Tech should either move to another conference. Their feelings are strong regarding this because of their time coaching at UVA. They said there is most assuredly B1G interest in UVA and vice versa.
Both agreed that UVA academics fit the B1G and their research would be bolstered from the B1G Academic Alliance.
Then the other coach said don't sleep on Va Tech. Said their engineering school is very good as well as their medical school. Said other schools are respectable.
Both agreed that they would be a good fit in the B1G and a disaster in the SEC. At issue is coaches at UVA are pushing for the SEC while academics prefer the B1G.
They both agreed that the SEC is after UNC first and foremost. The SEC thinks that they can force the VA AG and Legislature to allow UVA & VA Tech to split up. Both said the SEC will lose that fight.
Everyone knows the B1G wants some ACC schools and to move into Florida. The University of Florida is entrenched in the SEC, they're not leaving.
No one knows how things will play out. We will see what occurs as things move forward.
In closing, both coaches agreed they would love to see the B1G grab both Miami and FSU. They agreed that Miami has very good academics and FSU is heavily investing to have top tier academics and research.
I responded, we shall see, far too many moving parts. This will not happen fast Greg at CFB Peek Around The Corner has the inside track. In fact, he said the future UNC Chancellor will determine where UNC goes, this is what his booster sources at UNC have told him.
Both coaches love what Harbaugh is doing at Michigan. Said, they hope Michigan bludgeons Alabama to mush. Said they love the downhill and physicality Michigan plays with.
