Hackett had one job and he cleared the bases with a home run hire. My guess is, based on the past direction of most AD hires, that they may look for someone a little older that Warde Manuel (who I remember playing when I was a fellow student). He seems well-qualified in terms of experience and was in the department for a long time, it just seems like the school prefers someone in their late 50s to early 60s for this role (Bo, Weidenbach, Roberson, Martin, now Hackett all fit that profile--two failed ones, Brandon and Goss were younger). It won't be the only factor, but age of the candidate has some precedence.
