impressed with this thoughts on LeVERT.

Leave off the re-occurring injury to the foot, etc.

Here is what he had to say. It's tough to improve while sitting on the bench. See GR3 and Stauskas. You can lose your confidence.

But what really struck me about his comments and is so so true...when you are coming off an injury....you are not in a position of strength but a position of weakness. You aren't going to sneak into the top 10 picks or so where the teams are committed to playing you (Burke).

So he says LeVERT has to ask himself (leave off money :))...are you better off playing in college and improving your game or better off sitting on the bench in the NBA?

Something tells me the agents have a different perspective.

Well, it's not quite that easy when making a decision that involves millions of dollars. I'm in the camp that GR3 would have served himself better by coming back because there were certainly flaws in his game and it would have been good for him to come back and be one of the undisputed leaders on the team....and one of the primary scoring options. He really needed to work on this ballhandling and outside shooting. I think with some hardwork he would have improved his game enough to be a first round player, rather than a second round player, which is a big difference. Levert's situation is different with the injury. Unless he is a for sure first round pick which is debatable at this point he should come back. It would give his foot additional time to heal because he doesn't have to worry about participating in pre-draft workouts and all that other stuff. The way Kentucky's team is playing right now they might have 5-6 players go in the first round so the draft this year is beginning to look stronger which should factor into Levert's decision.

What constitutes being better off depends on one's priorities.

Assuming that trumps going to school by a wide margin, players are better off going to the nba and getting paid even if benched. While not getting major game time they are practicing just about every day against the best. And getting paid.

"Forced" to go to class, just to front being eligible, while not getting paid, reduces the satisfaction that comes from playing major minutes though improving one's game.

So "better off" probably means getting ghost.
