I wanted to share my experience in Dallas with several former Michigan football players. You hear so much negativity about athletes that I felt compelled to share a positive experience.
I sat behind a fairly large group of former players - Jasan Avant, Jamar Adams, Morgan Trent, Ryan Mundy, Steve Breaston and a few others I didn't recognize.
They were awesome to sit with, chatted me and my buddies up the whole game. Were gracious to any fans that recognized them, were totally vested in the game, rooting for the team and high fiveing my group and others around us.
It was also cool to hear their commentary on the game and analysis of plays. Jason Avant in particular was incredibly knowledgeable and descriptive about route running and passing play concepts. Basically every missed pass was the receivers fault, either with the way they released at the LOS, angles they took or other technical details. Listening to him it was obvious why he was so great, just a unique combination of technical knowledge and toughness and a mentality that he's going to go get every ball thrown to him
They also loved the speed of the D and were high on our young talent including Bush, Peoples Jones, Black, Long and they love Grant Perry (kept calling him "little Avant")
As an alum I am so proud to be associated with such great Michigan men, great representatives of our University and Football team!!!
Here's a pic of me with Avant and Jamar
