Going back to when Nua was hired

Can anyone recall if there were others that we're seriously considered? I remember a couple names bandied about here on the board, but did any others get interviews?

And how did Nua enter the mix? His track record didn't exactly jump off the page. Was he recommended by Sean Magee?
