Of course this is mostly a Navy story but I thought you all would appreciate the Michigan connection. She's christened as CVN 78 and she's the first of the new Ford class carriers. One of four that have been planned.
The crew size is smaller by about 600 souls from the previous iterations of the now old Nimitz class.
