I've been in a bit of a shell after that disaster, but I wasn't sure if it had been discussed yet: All of Gentry's drops were game-changing.
1) Gentry fails to secure a TD on 3rd down. Cost: 4 points and momentum.
2) Gentry drops 3rd down conversion. Next play? Punt block TD. Cost: 7 points
3) Gentry drops 2nd down pass that would have been a first down. Next play? Patterson's arm is hit throwing the ball away, resulting in an INT. Cost: 7 points.
Now I understand teammates had to do with 2 of those (Hart had the slowest punt in history), but if he makes the catch we are on the move and on schedule. But each of his drops put us in a bad place turned out to produce a really bad result.
