Impressions from last evening and thoughts on tonight's series finale?

Like the new line combinations?

Concerned about the goaltending and the power play?

At Yost early...

In the press box which is completely empty. Time to do a little research and finish writing for the December issue of The Wolverine print magazine.

In that edition, Interested parties will find 1) a long feature on the goaltenders, Nagelvoort and Racine, with lots of quotes from both goalies, Berenson and Josh Blackburn, UM's goaltending coach, 2) a sidebar historically recapping the run of solo goaltending at Michigan, starting with Shields and progressing through Turco, Blackburn and Montoya (and Hunwick), 3) an interview with 2015 commit Kyle Connor, 4) analysis of the slow start to the season, and 5) the always-popular Hockey Rewind.

Line chart and an injury update

Same as Friday night, except Sam Piazza in for Nolan DeJong...coaches decision not an injury.

Justin Selman update (Captain28 please note) Selman is skating; difficulty holding his stick; possibly playing next weekend. Possibly ...

Another pre-game note

AIC is starting sophomore goaltender Hunter Leisner keeping with their timeshare split in goal. Freshman Alex Murray started Friday night's game for AIC, turning aside 35 of the 41 shots hurled his way.

1-0 AIC

Unnecessary slasghing penalty by Shuart results in a power play goal.

First period summary UM 3 AIC 1

AIC came out with great energy and took advantage of an early power play to grab a 1-0 lead.

Nine minutes in, a hard working shift by the Hyman-Larkin-Kile changed the momentum and resulted in Michigan's first goal, by Hyman. Michigan kept up the pressure producing two more goals by Kile and Lynch.

Shots on goal of 19-6 were indicative of how Michigan controlled play in the period's final twelve minutes.

Second Period Summary Michigan up 4-3

In a sentence: Michigan out chanced AIC, but AIC converted their chances. Michigan will have to continue to limit the chances in the final period.
They need their goaltender to win the third period.
