The win was ugly as can be, but it was a win.

1) The entire team was flat in the first half. The offense had no rhythm, drops, and Patterson wasn't good. In addition, the defense had poor tackling, didn't adjust to slants, and the defensive backs held receivers too far down the field resulting in penalties.

2) The McKeon drop was big, especially when we were behind and the offense needed some rhythm. Good play call, bad execution.

3) Josh Ross should be the starting Weakside Linebacker, that competition is over. Devin Gil doesn't have the same speed as Ross and the defense in general seems to be more ferocious with Ross on the field.

4) Uche, Paye, and Dwumfour provided a significant pass rush in the 2nd half.

5) Winovich is the defensive MVP! The guy flashes on almost every play and you can never question his energy or effort.

6) Patterson didn't have a good game as he missed several targets throughout the game. However, he showed some moxy in the 2nd half, made great throws, and had a few impactful late game runs that we simply have not experienced in the Harbaugh era.

7) We finally adjusted to the slant passes in the 2nd half. Did somebody get in Don Brown's ear?

8) What does Pep Hamilton do?

9) Ben Mason equals success on offense. He was missing for a good bit of this game and it is inexcusable. It's no surprise that we scored the winning touchdown when he was finally back on the field.

10) Can we please start a game on the road with some fire and tenacity? Michigan State is not a good team in my estimation, but we can I'll afford to start out flat again on the road and expect to come out with a win.
