When NW started leaving Simpson open, and he missed 3 (?) of those three-pointers in a row, my MSU fan cousin said “stop shooting.” And at the same time I said “make that.”
I take the Beilein approach of “you better shoot if you’re open” and at some point just make it. That’s the difference between Izzo and Beilein. Izzo would be mad at Z for shooting. Beilein wasn’t mad at him, you have to shoot when you’re open, but he knew at some point he had to get Eli in there to make the open shots (and he did).
State fans think like Izzo. I think like Beilein. We know who’s better.
