To say that I am overwhelmed by my own ignorance heretofore regarding Fritz Pollard is probably an understatement. I love history; love it. And that certainly includes American football lore. My wife forwarded me some literature, photos, documents on Fritz Pollard, and I am gobbling it up !
For those of you that are not familiar with Fritz Pollard, and are interested in not only football lore but American history, I sincerely encourage you to look into his story.
For convenience, I will try and get back with some references. But please do not let that stop you from delving into the amazing story of an amazing early football legend that got buried in footnotes. I say that because I do love both football and American history, and regrettably just got introduced to Fritz Pollard (familiar with Fritz Crisler, but not Pollard).
