My fresh perspective is that right now, Michigan does not have a football coach. (Kind of?)

Thought Experiment: Would I want Michigan to hire this guy?

Warde Manuel is interviewing candidates
The first candidate he is interviewing is this guy:

As A Player
Was a college All American
Played 15 years in the NFL
Was an All Pro
Was AFC Offensive Player of the Year

NFL Coach
Has won the NFL Coach of the Year Award
Led his team to the NFC Championship game 3 times
Coached his team to the Super Bowl (lost)

College Coach
Has won 69% of his games during the last 6 years
Won the College Coach of the Year award in 2010
Has delivered 3 top 10 recruiting classes and 2 Top 15 recruiting classes in the last six years

He wants to coach at his alma mater, Michigan

Negatives
His team had a disappointing years in 2014 and he was fired by the San Francisco 49ers
His team had a terrible year this season during COVID.
Only 1 and 4 in Bowl games
He has not beaten his rival in 5 tries

QUESTION: If he is motivated and wants the job would I want this coach, with his resume coaching at Michigan?
ANSWER: Yes
OR
Warde could just keep looking for other candidates with better resume's, a more proven track record.
What do you think?
