If the playoff expands to 8 teams, and the five power conference champ receive automatic bids (as has been surmised), how would you structure the B1G title game going forward?
Because if automatic bids went to the conference title winner, then teams like Wisconsin (3 losses) or Northwestern would be in position to steal the automatic bid by virtue of playing in the weaker half. Should we really have a system where some teams can lose 2, 3 or even 4 games and get in because of the luck of the draw?
Would you just eliminate the divisions and adopt the B12 model (top 2 play)? That seems to be the only fair way to award the automatic bid in an 8 team playoff.
