Watching "Get Up' on ESPN.
The usual dumb dumbs- Heather Dinch, Mike Greenberg (idiot), and of course ol' Baldy, Paul Finebaum, pushed for immediate suspension, while the people who actually would know and matter were all in Michigan's due process corner.
Domonique Foxworth, Ryan Clark, and Jeff Saturday all were strongly on Michigan's side- Those were the three people who actually played football on the panel.
Foxworth cited due process and the irreparable damage if this precedent for a rush to judgement, possibly pushed by rival programs, is set. Foxworth and Saturday were at the leadership of the NFL PA when they played.
This led to my favorite exchange was between Saturday and Clark: (paraphrasing) Saturday: "Pettetti needs to let Keep in mind that there are haters that would sabotage a rival program"... Clark: "We've lived in this world". They were pointing out how easily this situation could've been pushed and manipulated to keep Michigan down.
Clark then stated in reply to Finebaum's rhetorical question :"What happens if Michigan wins then has to vacate?" by stating that 99% of the teams that win, if investigated would be found far from "squeaky clean".
The three former players also stated that they were used to having to change their signs at halftime, and this the idea that "sign stealing" is especially bad is actually something that commonly happens in football.
Event Steinberg stated that this may be a case of a few angry villiagers storming an unguarded castle.
I mean what do people think was happening?
These programs with pictures and posters on the sidelines were "just for fun"? Or that teams were keeping the same signs for the entire season?
