Just happens to be from my alma mater and has played a lot with my nephew so I have been hearing about him for years. William Cooksey of Liggett. Just accomplished something that no player in Michigan has done in 60 years: win four consecutive number one state singles finals. Done at the D4 level, but he is a legit talent, ranked number 8 nationally in his age group. The second best player in school history, behind only Aaron Krickstein, who was the youngest player to ever win the US junior nationals at age 15 and cracked the world top ten at 16 before injuries slowed him down.
Michigan landing a national top 8 prospect is quite rare. Most of those kids go to warm weather schools.
By the way in the link he is pictured with Chuck Wright, who coached me way back in the early 70s when he was fresh out of college! Time flies.
