There may be squabbling about which fourth team should get in, but obviously so far the cream is rising to the top and no one is just lucking their way into the championship. Like I've long said if we can maximize the meaningfulness of the regular season (i.e. conference championships) and not turn them into meaning nothing like in basketball, the smaller the better for the playoffs.

After USC blasted UDub at home I knew the Huskies were outclassed in the playoffs. Bama did what USC did on defense only the Trojans are better on offense.

Clemson and Bama were the 2 best teams and the playoffs work. OSU barely beat a Michigan team that was playing terrible football. Michigan peaked too early this year and they did the same last year. That's a Harbaugh trademark and I wonder if he tweaks things around - he rides the kids so hard that after 8-10 games they wear out.

I like the 4 game system and agree we would have been embarassed if we played Bama. I don't see us making the playoffs next year either but I do see us squarely in the mix in 2018.

I think with better talent and mental toughness, often going side by side, he'll do fine in a twelve gen season. UM has been a team of mental midgets for a decade, they need a hell of a lot more noetic toughness, plain and simple. You get that and you get a team of monsters like Bama.
