OK, I've never done this before, but...wishing you Wolvies good luck against PSU this weekend. I truly hope you guys curb-stomp them by about 50. I used to be OK with PSU for the most part, but their idiot fans on BWI have totally ruined that for me. So now I take delicious pleasure in rooting against them at every opportunity, just to watch the meltdown.

Also looking forward to the UM-MSU game this year. I think that's going to be a banger.

And, of course, looking forward to welcoming Jimmy to the 'Shoe at the end of November.

Best of luck until The Game.

Looks wike wittle "kybuckeye2" weeds a "safe space."
It's hilarious that you are here. The BWI goons always accuse you of being a UM troll.

I'm enjoying the outlook for PSU's season. Losing to Pitt got them all riled up, of course, and they didn't look particularly good against Temple. MSU, OSU, and UM are going to put on a clinic against that clown show, and they'll drop a couple more along the way. So much joy!!

I can take the punches thrown my way on BWI. As for my presence here, I'm not here for either (a) a "safe space" or (b) attention though. I try to generally talk football, and when Sandusky comes up from time to time, and I'll chat that too.

If PSU losses add "so much joy" to your life --- fair enough. You'll likely get a few more "so much joy" moments later this autumn. Carry on.

Michigan and MSU will be a hard hitting game that will go down to the wire. The OSU game will be a toss up game starting next year as Harbaugh continues to aquire talent. OSU is in a league of its own this year.

I think everyone in the OSU camp recognizes that Harbaugh has done wonders for your program. He might be crazy, but he's crazy like a fox. Whether it lasts long-term is TBD. When he was hired, I said that 2017 was the first year that he had a realistic chance at beating OSU, given that this year's game is in Columbus. I don't think he's got the horses for that one yet. Next year will be big, if he can get some depth and continue recruiting well. OSU has a big lead on the rest of the conference in that regard, and it will take some time to catch up.

Actually, I've always considered you to be a pretty decent poster. And there are a few others on BWI that seem to be cool, as well. But you must admit, the majority of the regulars there are douchebags of the first order. And if they banned them, no one would be left. So, the inmates run the asylum. Those clowns are the ones that I love to see get all bent out of shape.

Message boards are definitely all over the place.

Go to BWI, and one would think PSU fans are all a bunch of Paterno worshipping nutbags. Go on Penn State's reddit board, however, and it's primarily young folk who wish people would completely stop chatting about Joe Paterno and move on.

Go to 11Warriors, and you get a bunch of well-reasoned, intelligent, enjoyable Buckeye talk, and moderators who strictly ban "Ped State" and Sandusky jokes because they think it reduces the overall level of discourse. Go to buckeyeplanet, and "Ped Staters are all cultists" talk is rampant, among a bunch of fans who generally are convinced Jim Tressel did nothing at all wrong and seem to derive 100% of their life's joy out of Buckeye football.

Et cetera ........

Thus I don't draw conclusions. One thing I know for sure. When I'm in Ann Arbor on Saturday, I'll have a good time and I'll be treated well as a visitor. This generally happens on all my road trips. From reports I've heard from others, this also happens when others see a game at PSU.

Sorry for the lecture and the attack in my original post. But I know you've admitted (on the Pitt board) to having a troll account on BWI yourself --- which one could argue is also d-bag behavior. Just ignore the idiots and enjoy those things in life actually worth enjoying.

I would agree with you that OSU is the best team in the conference. That being said I do believe UM has enough talent on defense to give OSU some problems assuming Brown can control himself on the aggressiveness. I think too much attacking against OSU will backfire. The UM line is good enough along with McCray and Gedeon to do the job stopping the run and even putting pressure on Barrett.

Well said. I hang out on 11W myself, didn't even know about BuckeyePlanet. And as for trolling BWI, I don't really. Mostly just tune in to get a laugh or two. I'll occasionally add a little fuel to the fire, if some of them are already getting worked up about something. But nothing major.

I've never seen you over at the CFB Soundoff board (aka the JV Board). Good group of folks there from all fan bases. You would fit in well, I think.

I would be careful crowning the Buckeyes right now. They beat Oklahoma who is vastly over rated each and every year and they choke in the spotlight games every year. Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin could also beat the Sooners as well. No doubt they are talented and they have Meyer but we have a long way to go across the season.

Agreed. We have a young squad.

Agreed. We have a young squad.

Yes, very young but very talented with one of the top two coaches in the college game. The Bucks were very impressive against the Sooners and they will continue to get better. The point I was trying to make is not anything negative toward OSU. I am just saying that it is a long season and football is a strange game week after week. October is where it gets interesting.

buckeyeplanet --- that is another planet. And not of this solar system. :D

I'll have to check out the JV Board. Hopefully whatever PSU talk there is over there is football focused. I'm not scared to talk Paterno/Sandusky --- but God, does it get somewhat monotonous.

This is essentially my mind as well vis a vis OSU and UM. OSU's talent is breathtaking as is Urban's coaching acumen. UM is working to get back, I don't think it will be long once we get our OL in shape.

michnittlion is insulting buckeyeplanet posters, which is rich. He used to post there all the time, until he bet another poster $1000 that there would be "no honor Joe day at Penn State in 2016."

Got it --- it's MY fault.

The alumni Board of Trustee members don't have that much power. The adults are still in charge. And they will remain in charge. Big picture, PS4RS is irrelevant and I don't NEED to "get involved" from my home here in Northern Kentucky (I don't exactly live that close to State College to "be involved.")

Besides, I'm a member of my local alumni chapter, I recruit for the school locally, and I've made a concerted effort to go to a bunch of ROAD football games in the post-November 2011 era to show non Penn State folk MY face of Penn State.

So, I think you're completely full of [Mark May] when you somehow insinuate this is MY fault. I DO do my part. Screw you for insinuating otherwise.

If you're up for it, I'll bet $1000 to $10 right now that there is NO "honor Joe" day in 2016 at Penn State. And neither will there be one in 2017, or 2018, or 2019, .........

Where does it say that michnittlion and 409fold are the same individual?

Also note:

1: Tressel lied to the NCAA which was a clear violation, and he deserved to be fired for it. Ohio State fans did not riot in the street, vandalize vehicles, and demand that the University reinstate him.

2. Ohio State fans did not vote out members of their board of trustees for failing to adequately "honor Joe."

3. Ohio State fans have moved on from the Tressel era.

4. Joe Paterno turned his back on children who were molested by a serial predator that he had hired and supervised. There really isn't a comparison to Tressel in the first place.

You needn't convince me. I was sad that the Tressel situation played out the way it did, because I felt like he was a good guy overall. But yes, he deserved to be fired. And we have all moved on from there. And no...nothing that occurred at OSU, including The Punch, ever approached the situation at PSU.

Looks like solid evidence on the identity to me. @michnittlion you have been outed. What say you?

Yeah, I have to say, I was disappointed to read his post on here, because we enjoyed his posts, he did seem to be pretty reasonable, so I'm not sure why he would make such a gross misrepresentation about our board.

I'm not sure I was "outed" --- I admitted who I was there.

I hold to what I said about buckeyeplanet. I found it to be the "least intellectual" of all Ohio State boards that I have visited, and I thought I was treated poorly there. The latter is why I left. I do not think I am treated poorly here, thus I remain (among the few who do).

That said, if there's a post over there where someone ACCEPTED my bet, I'll find a way to pay up. I'll man up. RealityMan will vouch for me: I paid him money after I lost a bet to him earlier this year. RealityMan and I are Venmo buddies, ha ha.

I was a bit disappointed (although tolerant of it as it threw the Paterno Loyalists a bone) by the commemoration last week, but there is no doubt that it did occur.

I guess I am having a lousy year prediction wise. So given that, let me change my pick for tomorrow to Michigan 63, Penn State 14. :D

I am sorry you feel that you were treated poorly there. That said, you are perfectly entitled to think we are a bunch of dummies, which is what I assume you mean by "least intellectual," but that isn't the gross misrepresentation that I was commenting on. You said:

Well, I call BS on that. The vast majority of buckeyeplanet posters do not think that JT did nothing wrong. I'm sorry your fee fees got hurted, but that does tend to happen when you want to argue about what a great place your school is on another team's board, while your fellow alumni continue to refer to kids Sandusky molested as "victims" with quotation marks and start threads arguing that Sandusky was innocent.

I used the word "generally" (eg not universal) --- admittedly I can't quantify it's more than 50% but it did feel like that to me. I liked JT but OSU was not penalized "because players got free tattoos" (as some OSU folk still say to this day) but because "JT failed to report something he had to to the NCAA."

11W is a GREAT blog, I would say the best I read in college football. They also ban usage of "ped state" and "peso state" and "they are all a cult" and such. Why? Because that is also a "gross misrepresentation" of a whole community. Those terms insult me and I think I am right on that one.

BP has the technology to change some terms (shit) to another (mark may). Your mods can thus change "ped state" and such too. They should be challenged by the community to do so.

Ill be offline til Sunday pm --- function tonight than I'll be in michigan for the game --- but I'll be back later for further chat on this if the thread warrants.

Again, this is why people reacted to you the way they did. Virtually everyone on buckeye planet agrees that Tressel deserved to be fired for lying to the NCAA, just like we agree that Woody needed to go after the Gator Bowl. In neither case were there riots in the street, nor efforts to overthrow the University administration. Yet that is exactly what has happened at Penn State. If I recall, you made the statement that if what happened at Penn State happened at Ohio State, a section of our fan base would act the same way as the bwi crowd (you also claimed that U of M would have done the same if there was no audio in Moeller's case). No we would not. Nothing in our history suggests that we would. You still refuse to grasp that this situation is unique to the cult like dynamic that Joe Paterno and his followers cultivated at Penn State.

You can argue till the cows come home, but it doesn't change the fact that Franco Harris walks around with a cardboard cut out of Joe, or that Crazy Anthony Lubrano is on your board of trustees, while Adam Taliaferro was basically run off for not honoring Joe enough. You aren't a full blown cultist, but you do seem to underestimate the culture problem that still exists around the Penn State program.

As to 11 Warriors, I never read it, and I don't support any website that would actively engage in censorship.

I drove back from Ann Arbor to Cincinnati this evening vs. Sunday (I got some last-minute Bengals tickets), so here I am early.

Let's start with censorship. That is not "censorship" 11W is engaging in --- it is "demanding certain behavior from community members." BP engages in this too. If I went to BP and posting nothing but 100% positive things about JT Barrett, but did it in the context of always calling him "my (n-word) JT Barrett", I would be asked to cease that or get kicked out of the community. And that would be the correct decision.

One thing your "censorship" example showed --- it showed that in 2 separate contexts, you have claimed that you belong to a tribe (OSU fans/BuckeyePlanet) that is "morally superior" to some other tribe (PSU fans/11 Warriors).

In other words, you're a tribalist. That's a philosophy that you believe in. That's why you are comfortable with the usage of terms "Ped State." Penn State is a group of tens of thousands of distinct individuals (students, alum, staff, et cetera). You prefer to use one phrase to define Penn State as a whole, lumping all of those distinct individuals together.

Fair enough. I reject that world philosophy. I also reject the belief that JoeBots and Franco Harris types and loudmouth beliefs wouldn't exist amongst the Ohio State community had a Sandusky-like event had occurred there. There are tens of thousands of OSU folk and simple statistics (look up "the law of large numbers") indicates crazy folk would crop up. I'm not making a judgment on the Ohio State community there. That's just 30-some years of experience in viewing the world in deriving my opinion.

Your mods --- as has been done at 11W (and also for a time at Bucknuts too) --- have the capability to ban usage of the term "Ped State." Just set up the software to automatically change "Ped State" to "Penn State", similar to how "shit" is changed to "Mark May." Setting up the software in this way should be a fairly trivial exercise. I predict that they don't ban the term.

Butters on South Park this week said: "That's the way the world works now --- you get blamed for the group you belong to, even if you didn't do nothing."

He was wrong. That's not the way the WHOLE world works. Only PARTS of it.

It's your choice which part of that world you choose to play in.

We don not ban the term Ped State, nor should we. If you want to know the reason why, let me just point out that ONE WEEK AGO YOUR SCHOOL HONORED A MAN WHO COVERED UP FOR A CHILD PREDATOR SO THAT IT WOULD NOT HURT THE FOOTBALL PROGRAM'S REPUTATION.

And you actually have the nerve to suggest that Ohio State and Michigan would have done the same?

You know what? I used to think that you were fairly reasonable, but now I see that you are really no different from 9fold, maryluvslions, creepy todd brewster, and the other posters who claim "no blood, no rape," or that Sandusky couldn't have done it because of the size of his nose (actual arguments on BWI, mind you). Your denial of the Penn State culture problem just takes a different form, that's all.

I feel sorry for you. Maybe it is just Stockholm syndrome - I don't know. But you are damned f'ing right that people who are disgusted by someone who would turn his back on molested kids might feel morally superior tho people who would worship and adulate him instead. I see no shame in my moral superiority whatsoever.

I've discussed elsewhere on this board my thoughts as regards the Paterno commemoration. To sum up --- "I did not love the commemoration. But given that it was low-key, and given that the Weekend at Bernie's segment of the PSU fanbase is loud and has been chattering about this 50th anniversary for months now, I will tolerate the commemoration. I will tolerate our administration throwing the Weekend at Bernie's folk a (insignificant in the big picture) bone. They can no longer say they haven't received anything."

As an analogy --- I think that abortion is morally equivalent to murder in 100% of the cases where the female willingly engaged in intercourse. I am also going to vote for Hilary Clinton, a woman who takes $$$ from groups that encourage and advocate for a woman's choice to choose in all circumstances. I do not love that Hilary Clinton does that, but I do tolerate it. Sometimes politicians (and PSU administrators are politicians, just like administrators at every other University in the land) can't subscribe to 100% idealism.

PSU administrators have not been perfect in the 4+ years since November 2011. I do think they have been more good than bad. From the big-picture POV, I simply can't get overly outraged about the commemoration 8 days ago.

The above opinion is a nuanced opinion, of course. Similar to other "tribalists", you don't like nuance. You prefer grouping things together instead of seeing any shades of differentiation. Thus you go on with "Ped State" and "Penn State culture problem" and equating me and 9fold.

(BTW, you forgot pnnylion in your list of BWI posters)

I haven't forgotten --- but if you ever can link to a BP post where someone accepted my bet, let me know. I'll be here.

The reason I don't like the term 'Ped State' is it trying to mock fans of a rival football school. It makes light over a very serious issue that doesn't deserve to be trivialized in any manner. This transcends PSU and football.

The fact that PSU decided to appease it's radicals speaks very poorly on the administration. The inmates are running the asylum to use a popular metaphor.

Now to South Park. Season 19 was great. Brilliant. Parks and Stone 'roast' and satire anyone. In regards to Douche and a turd...I would never for the Douche and will not vote for the turd. I will abstain for the first time in my voting history. Douche and Turd characters per South Park.

I enjoy a nuanced opinion & am pretty far from a tribalist, thanks. However, I also enjoy sound reasoning. If you don't like the term "Ped State," the way to get people to stop using it is simple. Stop honoring Joe Paterno at your games. Melt down his statue so it is not replaced. Stop allowing the crazy portion of your fan base to select the members of your board of trustees (since you claim they are such a small minority, this should be no problem). In short, the way to get people to stop talking about it is to stop putting it out there in the first place.

I did not include pnnylion in the list because I don't think he has an equal, except for his alter egos when he gets banned.

By the way, the reason we filter the word "shit" to [Mark May] is not because of our sensitivity to salty language.
