Here is a quick 2 min video where the focuse is on just 2 plays: 1. Diabate's spin move close to the hoop (46 secs into video), and 2. Diabate's spin move start far from the hoop (1:12 mark of video)
1. 46 secs into the video, Moussa catches the ball on the right baseline
A. Moussa faces up the defender and both of their faces are about 6 inches (hopefully the defender doesn't have hot breath--lol)
B. Moussa does a slight ball to his left, and then back to his right (so quick u may miss it)
C. Then Moussa UNLEASHES a lethal spin back to his left,
D. Moussa finishes at the hoop with his left hand (his off-hand)
E. Defender #4 is bewildered...left standing in his original defensive position with his ____ in his hand...lol
2. 1 mins 12 secs into video, Moussa catches a pass slight right of the top of the key
B. Defense is sagging inside lane
C. Moussa moves to his left by dribbling with his left hand
D. Moussa then changes directions by putting it thru his legs and moves to his right inside the lane
E. A defender closes out Moussa on his right side
F. Moussa unleases that lethal spin near the right side of the lane and gets deep inside the lane...
G. Moussa is confronted with a double-team at the rim, but defeats the double team by using great footwork via an up-and-under move and scores
Thoughts:
1. The spin move is an advanced offensive move
2. Last time I saw a guy execute a spin move like that, i was watching a Dematha HS grad and HOFer play for the Bad Boys Pistons---Adrian Dantley!
3. Moussa is much more than just a shot blocker and dunker---he's skilled offensively
4. Coach Howard will add a few low post moves to his game---so Watch Out!!
