compensation for Iowa/Ferentz giving UM Rudock for the one year. This doesn't really impact UM this year if they win out so since NCAA rules prohibit financial trades this was the best way to settle the score.

I'll take it. Rudock was a blessing last year so we are even Hawk fans. This would explain the performance yesterday :).

Maybe the Wolverines spent more time worrying about the color of the visitor locker room than thinking about the game.

I am in the minority here but I thought UM played hard but was probably overconfident. Sloppy across the board and most of it self inflicted. It happens. Practice should be fun.

For me the game came down to the series after the Stribling interception. We needed the coaches to come up with some decent play calling and it didn't happen. Iowa knew what was coming on all 3 plays and that is a shame, because one first down would have sealed it.

1st down. I don't have a problem with the run because you want to try and put yourself in a decent 2nd down situation. They were running the ball relatively well so it is a reasonable call.

2nd down. You tell me. I would love to hear ANYONE come up with an explanation for that call. In fact, if you can come up with a good reason I will stay off the board for 30 days. :). Seriously. Come up with one and I will honor my commitment.

If it was 2nd and 3 I could see it.

3rd down. Fine. I would have preferred an intermediate pass of 10-12 yards but it sure felt like the staff was trying to avoid a turnover and keep Iowa out of fg range. Darboh should have caught it but the last two plays I don't know. I could have seen the 3rd down call on 2nd down.

So there you have your challenge.

2nd down run with Peppers seemed like a bad idea to me.

The 3rd down pass was ruined by your left tackle not blocking our DE, forcing Spieth to chuck it.

To me, the 2nd down was the one questionable call in that series.

What are the odds of completing a 30 yard pass?
What are the odds of completing an 8 yard pass?
It truly defies logic, the 3rd down call.

Agree - unless Speight's shoulder was already bothering him and the staff thought it'd be easier for him to throw an "armpunt" pass than a precision 10-yarder.

The playcall wasn't "throw a 30 yard pass". It was a passing play with 4 receivers in the pattern. An Iowa DE was unblocked, forcing a quick decision, and it didn't work out.
