The Michigan field hockey team is returning to the Elite 8 for the 2nd year in a row after winning their opening round match against St. Joseph's by a score of 3-2. Despite dominating in shots, a late goal by St. Joseph's made Michigan have to hang on for the final few minutes. But hang on they did and now they will presumably play North Carolina next, (I haven't checked other scores, but it would be shocking if NC did not win their game).
This is gonna be a tough one. Michigan would probably only beat NC about 1 out of every 4 times they play. But the field hockey team is always a tough gritty team. They will give NC a battle, and make them earn it. And if they do somehow get this one and make it back to the Final 4...they'll have as good a shot at a championship as anyone.
