Just a casual fan here. I understand "drafting" but "bumped drafted"? C'mon man!!!
"McDowell, who was listed at +6,600, bumped drafted Rochester Hills, Mi.’s, Brad Keselowski on the final lap, causing Keselowski to spin and take teammate and leader Joey Logano with him. The incident triggered a fiery, multicar wreck among several of the front running cars. NASCAR Cup Series officials determined that McDowell was ahead of Chase Elliott when the caution flag waved, giving the journeyman driver the win." MLive
Found the race still on at midnight. My rooting interest was Keselowski because he's a M fan. Into the final lap with Keselowski moving up from 3rd to 2nd and in position to win his first Daytona ever
if he can overtake teammate Joey Lagano. McDowell comes up behind Keselowski and "bumped drafted" him nudging him from behind and sending Keselowski into a spin and into team mate and leader;
Logano. McDowell avoids the wreckage and wins.
For those that know NASCAR better than me. Was this the right call? Why isn't there more controversy? Is this an accepted move in racing?
