Yes, it turned into an extravaganza! Can’t say thank you enough to my Fort Family for the love and support during my late night stoner cooking experiment last night….#goblueforlife
For starters, the pepper Jack brats were delicious, used the reheat function (they were pre-cooked) Only heated them for like 10 mins, was plenty of time.
So, then the wheels started turning as to what else would be good. Searched in my freezer and found two packages of butternut squash! Just put one bag in the basket, melted butter (was out of olive oil lol) salt, pepper, and used the broil function. Again, they turned out F-ING DELICIOUS!
Next on the docket was a frozen venison steak. Again, just salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Was concerned about flavor, since I usually marinate all of my venison steaks overnight. I think I used the steak/meat function, but at this point, I was quite stoned….however, the steak was cooked perfectly! It was between medium rare and medium, but it did lack a lot flavor so I will marinate one like usual and try it again
My last experiment was a vacuumed sealed walleye filet my neighbor gave me. I won’t bother with the details of how I cooked it because it was a disaster and stunk up my whole house (still smells god awful in here this morning) was puzzled why it turned out so bad……till I looked at the labeling on the vacuum seal packaging and it was from 2018.
I definitely should’ve stopped after the venison steak, but I was so excited with possibilities this Holy Grail of appliances could do…….plus, I had that fake Mary Jane confidence.
So I as look back on my Wednesday evening, two things occurred to me: 1. As a 40 year old, grown ass man, I should never tell anyone how I spent my evening. 2. I will absolutely tell everyone how I spent my evening so they too can experience the wonders of air fryers.
Who knows where my air fryer cooking skills will take me, but one I do know one idea that I will be pursuing: How good will Rita’s nacho dip be if cooked in this mofo? #youraisemeup
