They discussed how Michigan and Notre Dame would be seen as playoff contenders. Who would get in first?
There was complete agreement that if Notre Dame loses a BigTen champion Michigan team would be in the playoffs BEFORE a 1 loss ND Team
Why?
Michigan has constantly improved throughout the season and played a top schedule
Notre Dame only has one quality TEAM on its schedule (Michigan)
That is obvious to us but the general college football fan may not "get" that reasoning yet.
The idea that it is POSSIBLE that Michigan could be the team to keep ND out of the playoffs makes me very happy. I smile just thinking about the possibility.
