Easy Eds kid!

If in 350 days he's still committed to Michigan I will be excited. A lot can happen in the coming years...if Peters or Gentry somehow gets some playing time this year and show great progress I would not be surprised if McCaffery looks elsewhere. If Peters and O'Korn are as good as advertised, McCaffery will only play for a year in his Michigan career versus going to Stanford where odds are he gets to start as a Jr & Sr.

Stanford has issued offers to 4 quarterbacks, none called McCaffery. I used to ask some of the USC recruits why they picked the Trojans when plenty of guys were ahead of them. Pete Carroll sold competition and there aren't many young guys that UM or the other schools want who don't enjoy competition. Playing time is an excuse when a kid isn't as good as someone ahead of them. It worked for Pete; it will work for Jimmy. You don't get better by practicing against someone weaker or slower than you and the elite players now that.

"Easy Ed" from my era was "Easy" Ed McCauley who played on the old Boston Celtics when they won nine NBA Championships in eleven years. He was Bill Russell's back up and played some forward. I also am familiar with the McCauley, who was the receiver with the Bronco's. I have not lost it that much.
