Joe Moorhead exploited Don Brown's scheme like some sort of Jedi Master. And it wasn't just because he had Saquon Barkley. Two weeks of game prep and he delivered a masterpiece. Ironically, Moorhead tried to hire Brown when he got the Mississippi State head job.
Rickey Rhane was Joe's assistant and is their new OC and is running Moorhead's offense. And not nearly as well it seems. He was the brainchild behind the 4th and 5 running call at OSU and not burning clock against MSU. Which cost them both games.
I expect Don Brown will tweak his scheme to shut PSU down. Guesses:
- Less blitzing to contain McSorley. Make them one dimensional
- Make McSorley beat them with his arm
- Spy Bush when they do blitz to inflict pain to McSorley when he runs.
- I expect PSU to put KJ Hamler in the slot to pick on our safety or LB like they did last year with Barkley. He is their primary playmaker and cannot be covered by a linebacker. And I am not sure a safety can either.
We stop Hamler and McSorley's legs I am very confident of the W.
