They both took over programs from mediocre coaches that were good recruiters. Both of those coaches took over from maybe the worst coaches in program history (Ellerbe and Rodriguez).
Cultures had to be changed, improvements had to be made, facilities had to be upgraded.
It was year 5 when Beilein won a conference championship, followed by a bad loss in the tournament...And now he’s played for 2 national titles in the last 6 seasons, plus an elite 8.
Dabo Swinney had the same type of trajectory as well.
I HATE losing to Ohio State. That has to change to make the next step. But the trajectory so far is fine...
