These days, if your interior linemen, if both guards and center cant get out and pull, arent you then limiting yourself?
I think the number one reason for "playing too high" is being too dang tall. Period.
It seems truly that only Olinemen "unicorns" can be tall and flex well enough to get low enough.
It seems we still recruit the heck out of OT's with the expectation that if they dont pan out as Off Tackles, we will then just slide them over, but thats certainly not ideal.
Dont twist this, I still understand and believe in 6'6-6'7 Off.Tackles and realize how hard it is to get good OT's. I get that, I just wonder about Interior people being above 6'3" When I see the likes of Army and Mich.State diving at the feet of the Interior Linemen and cut blocking them, I cant help but think tall gents get cut easier than shorter guys. I watched MSU last Saturday dive at the Centers feet and he landed almost 2 yards behind where he started at. Havent seen a block that low in a long long time. Surprising how quick it happened too.
