Sometimes a player shows flashes of what he can do, and you sit up and take notice. Hunter had a couple of those moments last night. One was the quick spin move towards the baseline to his right ending with an easy layup. He just left the defender in the dust in a tight space with not much room to maneuver. Usually, he's pretty methodical with his back to the basket, so the quick move was especially effective.

The other example was him catching the ball on a diagonal 8-10 ft. from the hoop and, with no wasted motion, he turns left and smooth as silk launches a half hook over the defender, nothing but net. A new element in his arsenal. Whoah!

Hunter's most impressive aspect is the variety in his offensive game. He hasn't made a face up shot yet, either mid range or deep. His HS film shows him making those shots, but he's only taken a few to date. I do like that he flushes it at point blank range. Teske used to drive me crazy laying it off the glass too often when he could just dunk.

No doubt some stiffer challenges lay ahead, but the young man has the "it" factor. Never seems to get rattled, doesn't let one bad play linger, thinks the game. I've seen enough of Dickinson to be a believer.
