Posted in todays Detroit News, sports section, was an article entitled "MSU proceeds forward with decimated roster".
Of course, they are referring to the various personnel who recently left the program, either voluntarily or involuntarily. But to me this seems like sports journalism taking the "extreme hype" ground.
Granted, MSU lost some very talented players (most of which have not come close to their future potential). Yet, when you look at their actual roster, the MSU football team will have over 100 players, to include around 75 scholarship players to start this next season.
Somebody tell me how this roster is "decimated". The PSU losses a couple seasons ago were far worse than recent MSU problems, and look how they turned out. Every true football coach I ever knew would state that we will work with the people we got and compete. Apparently, there is little faith on behalf of selected journalists that MSU can do that .. as depicted in this over hyped article.
Anyone else think so?
