Derek Mason

I know Derek Mason is considered a very good DC. Was he over his head as a HC at Vanderbilt? Not a very good record there, but was it because it’s the SEC? I’m not familiar with him at all. Just trying to evaluate where he fits in as a possible DBrown replacement.
