Despite the highly unusual number of players no longer with the team since last year, I love all the freaking out people do. "Wtf is going on! We won't have a football team left!!! Ahhh!!!"
He wasn't starting this year and hasn't been the same since hurting his neck. Probably his decision, but regardless if it's his or the coache's, if guys don't or can't live up to the expectations on and off the field, and/or they do nothing but hinder team chemistry, then get them out. Example. McDowell is obviously a freakish talent, but last season he wanted no part of playing college football, and as soon as he was "injured" the defensive line improved drastically. He's an NFL talent, but he was a cancer on the team, so I'm more than happy he's gone. Same with Nicholson. The kid was absolutely not a team player, and absolutely didn't want to be there.
Dantonio has done the impossible at Michigan State and it's unreal how many "fans" forget that. It wasn't Narduzzi, it was Dantonio. Last year they had the worst quarterback I've ever seen play for MSU and I've been around long enough to remember the 1988 Rose Bowl. I have no doubt he knows exactly what he's doing. And I have the same faith in Lewerke. That kid is going to be unreal. The team has a ton of talent. LJ, Holmes, London, a laundry list of 4 star receivers, one of if not the best linebacker groups in the B1G (especially excited to watch Bachie blow up), Layne and Scott are going to be lockdown corners, TJ Harrell is looking like he might be another diamond in the rough who's lightening fast also, the offensive line has the makings of a truly special group, obviously defensive end is an area that's thin as can be, but Dantonio knows what he's doing. Although the defensive line might not be the greatest in the B1G, the linebacker group will help tremendously.Also, Dantonio has some really talented tight ends and it will be interesting to see if a couple convert over to the defensive side of the ball.
