I have not read everything about the defense but one thing that made me go "huh!?" was Daxton's quote in "Notes,Quotes "etc was that we thought MSU was a ground or running team. They gained 50 yards against Rutgers! And had a throwing QB. I'm no expert but it seems to me you would want to take away the passing game and as soon as it became obvious that we could not get to the QB, start playing 5-6 DBs.
