I'm not on my roof. Can't say that for a lot of people, though. There's a reason they call my neighborhood the Heights.
In terms of damage, it's closing in on a Katrina level event, though it doesn't appear nearly as bad in terms of loss of life. Good news is Houston is doing what it's designed to do, the ditches flood, then the bayous, then some of the major thoroughfares to keep the water away from us as best as possible. Probably why so "few" people have died.
Unfortunately, the major reservoirs have had to be opened. That means the neighborhoods are in for more water, but it would be worse if they didn't.
If you know people in and around Houston, check in with them, make sure they're safe, see if you can help them. Some people are being required to evacuate and will need places to stay.
If you're in Houston, hold on. There's more coming. Let me know if you need something. I'll do my best.
