Game one tipped of against Fos Provence Basket, a French professional team, today and ended a few hours ago.

Maize & Blue Review had a couple different allies with boots on the ground, who was able to watch the team play and relayed some game notes back to me.

This information is from one source exclusively, but I will post more as information comes in from my other sources.

GAME NOTES:

Michigan boasted a starting lineup of:
Jaelin Llewellyn - 6'2
Kobe Bufkin - 6'4
Jett Howard - 6'8
Terrance Williams II - 6'7
Hunter Dickinson - 7'1

The first half was "close" with neither team really opening up too much of a lead, until Fos went up double digits late in the first half.

Michigan responded by going on a "very impressive" run and closing it to just five points at the break.

The second half was a completely different story.

As I stated, Fos is a professional French team, and they showed that after the break.

They "beat Michigan good" in the second half to win by a sizable but not embarrassing margin by any means.

Michigan struggled to defend in transition and had some issues scoring in the half court outside of Dickinson.

They ran good sets and tried to get everyone involved, but didn't come out with a win.

My source told me, Michigan is going to be "really good". That they have "good bodies" and "strong players" but looked like they had only "practiced for 10 days together".

Would be easy to be discouraged by these notes, but the players and staff took some valuable lessons away from this game and will only get better from here.

Now on to player notes...
