following the visit today for the five-star cornerback out of Calabasas (Calif.), as I noted earlier, he told me during the BBQ that he was having a great time. He bonded really well with his group, Nico Collins, Donovan-Peoples-Jones, Kurt Taylor and Najee Harris. He said the entire group talked about playing for Michigan and said it's a legit thought.
Holmes' prior relationship with 2016 signees David Long and Kekoa Crawford was already really good. He's as close as it gets with Long and according to a source, they chatted it up a lot today and it seems to have Holmes really thinking about Michigan.
Holmes himself let us know that he and Long and chatted about just how good the secondary would be, calling it 'scary' as we noted in an earlier thread about Holmes during the visit.
According to the same source that told us about Holmes and Crawford/Long, the talk is that it looks to be down to Michigan and UCLA. And FYI, Crawford and Long are not taking the soft approach on Holmes, they are HARD after him and want him in Ann Arbor.
This visit likely doesn't get a commitment out Holmes anytime soon, but it puts them in a really good spot and will almost definitely get them an official visit this fall.
