It makes we want to throw up in my mouth to say it, but it is what it is.
I just looked over some records: From 1970-2006, Michigan was 29-8 against MSU... and two of those MSU wins were clockgate and tripping Desmond.
Since Dantonio came to MSU, MSU is 8-3. One of those losses was in his first season.
For many years, I've dismissed what Dantonio accomplished thinking that he did it against two inept M coaching staffs in Rich and Hoke. I just can't make that argument any more.
He runs a program that emphasizes and values beating Michigan. EVERY TIME we play them, he has something special in his game plan that his coaching staff has put together to give MSU an advantage. For years it was timing/knowing our snap count. They always pour over film and have a few offensive plays that they use to exploit our defense such as counter draws and yesterday's perfect throw back screen.
He always has their team amped up and ready to play Michigan. We don't match that intensity or preparation. The best was to summarize it is that we seem like students playing athletes.
I feel like our team is always starting behind because of the advantages that his coaching staff has given MSU before the kickoff. It's maddening.
I thought that this advantage would end with the arrival of Harbaugh. Unfortunately, yesterday was the most glaring example of it yet. MSU has less talented players, a thinner roster, and equivalent youth to Michigan, but yet they were able to out muscle and out play us. Additionally, the offensive game plan WITH AN EXTRA WEEK TO PREPARE showed nothing that was specific to give MSU problems. We ran the same stuff we always run. MSU was ready.
I'm sick of this. This was one of the worst losses as a long time Michigan fan. This loss ruined my hopes.
