Dang. If I was Iowa I would play Beathard get rid of Rudock...

Glad you have him.
Delighted CJ is starting for us.
Don't think about trading him back.

CJ must be thrilled that he did not have to face OSU, MSU or UM this season. Biggest win on his resume
is NW. Don't worry about UM trading Jake back to Iowa, he's doing just fine where he is.

We are singing different QB tunes around here than a month ago;)

Maybe you were.

Maybe you were. Remember, Rudock only had one month to work with his receiver's before the Utah game. That is the only game
he lost due to his play. MSU was...well you know why UM lost that game, and it wasn't Rudock's fault. He is doing exactly what he
was brought in for and has an opportunity to get UM to the championship game in December...and he will have faced 4 teams in the
top 25, unlike CJ Beathard.

I liked Rudock and thought he did not get the credit he deserved at Iowa. That being said, it has worked out well for both school. CJ is perfect to lead Iowa and Jake is doing a great job leading Michigan. To date, Michigan has only faced three ranked teams with one to go. Iowa has faced two. You get OSU which will be your fourth, OSU would be Iowa's 3rd. Iowa did beat Pitt, who was ranked shortly after Iowa beat them, however was not ranked at the time they played. Of course, I don't think Iowa was either.... Both should get ranked teams in bowl games, so unless Iowa gets to the playoffs, it would end up being a 5-4 split of which QB played more ranked teams, which is not really worth a pissing contest over. Both schools have played tougher schedules then OSU though, which I don't think has played a ranked team yet. I did watch the Utah game, and Jake was still learning the offense, but looks great now that he has got the playbook down. My biggest trouble with Jake when he was at Iowa was not the check downs that most of the other Hawk fans hated, but the fact that he struggled to be accurate throwing deep balls. CJ when healthy is deadly throwing deep. I have noticed from the highlights that Jake seems to be more accurate going deep at Michigan, maybe better speed at WR so he is not constantly over throwing his receivers. I am not a Michigan fan at all, but do root for Jake. After he graduates, I can go back to Wolverine hating.....Well, they still come in behind Penn State and Ohio State in the hating department.

I was concerned but some were suggesting we start Speight the rest of the way...crazy talk imho

I live in Iowa...CJ has beaten two ranked teams. Jake's biggest win? NW as well.
This thread is pitiful. CJ is so talented it's scary. Faster, stronger arm...Jake is doing well. We will know very shortly who can win the big game.

What was pitiful was the coaching Jake received at Iowa. That much is obvious. But since Iowa manages to eek together a good season once every 7-8 years, maybe we should annoint beathard?

What's pitiful is Iowa's BIG schedule. They missed all the "big boys" by playing in the weak West Division. OSU, MSU and UM would all be undefeated
with that schedule, except they have to play each other. Indy is going to be an eye opener for CJ. Remember Wisconsin last year in the championship
game?

Well...you said the biggest win on CJs resume is NW...Iowa beat both NW and Wiscky on the road...both better wins than Jake can claim. I'm a Michigan guy and a Jake fan, but CJ is a better QB. I've watched them both plenty.

What difference does it make you have Jake we have CJ. We knew exactly what we had last year in Jake. A good QB who was a game manager who couldn't make the big play or throw the long ball.
You've seen him play, you know what I'm talking about.

What does Kirk Ferentz know about coaching up QB's? He comes up with a depth chart on January 2nd (which he has never done) because Mr. Beathard
threatened him with a transfer. He is fortunate CJ has led him through a mediocre schedule to this point. Let's see how it plays out.

A true FANatic topic. We're talking about the #48 & #61 rated QB's in the NCAA. If I'm unbeaten at this time I'm happy with the guy I've got behind center.

P.S..............believe it or not Rudock is the #48 guy 8 spots behind Connor Cook!
