Couple of points. Looks like UM doesn't really need the state of MI...

Does it? Needs Indiana and Ohio. I don't even think MSU needs the state of MI. (talent).

Has the UM program ever been as on solid ground as it is right now. Recruiting is great. System and coaches are in place. No shady stuff. Honest question. Has the UM bball program ever been in better shape across the board when factoring in facilities, coaches, talent and recent Big Ten titles.

Maybe it has had better high end short term performance but the outlook for this program looks good for the next decade.

Thoughts?

Great decision by JB to cut bait on Winston. Smart and he is learning. Easier to beat Wiscy and Illinois in recruiting than Syracuse, MSU and UK.

Nah, both universities need Michigan. Keep in mind both Josh Jackson and Miles Bridges are from Michigan. Add either of those two to either of our teams and it makes a big difference. But first, the state of Michigan high schools need to keep their top end talent. Those two would be the top two players in the state of Michigan easily this year and Brian Bowen in 2017 is similar.

Great points by Reality Man. I watched his film. The guy will be a very good PG with Beilein's coaching. He has a passion for UM. He is a better defender than Winston. It's critical that Beilein recruit well in Indiana and Ohio (possibly Illinois). I'm not sure why more Michigan talent doesn't stay at home, but that's okay. I heard his interview and he stressed education and being close to home as important factors. This is a great decision by both the school and the recruit.

Are you pretending that Josh Jackson is still in the state of Michigan? He's going to a pretend prep school in Napa, California so he can be part of Prolific Prep basketball academy this season. He might have been raised in Detroit, but he isn't staying.
