Work with a guy who played at Western Kentucky. We were talking college football at lunch and somebody asked how long Jimmy was going to stay at Michigan. My friend jumped in with the answer that “he’s not going anywhere”. Turns out, he played football his freshman year for Jack Harbaugh and shared how he got to know the family well. “The Harbaugh’s are not good people – they’re great people”. Credits Jimmy, both recruiting and fund raising, for saving the football program – on the verge of being shutting down. Had to drop football to concentrate on baseball, which was paying his tuition, but relayed how much it meant to him that the Harbaugh’s would still come to as many of his baseball games as possible.
No insider scoop, just a cool story from a guy I think a lot of.
