The media's favorite whipping boy Phil Kessel has been taking a pretty good whipping locally for a recent lack of production.
Malkin (Kessel linemate) doesn't speak great English and doesnt talk much to the media. But after game 4 Malkin made a point to guarantee that Kessel would score in game 5.
After 2 periods Kessel has a goal and two assists.
First time I heard of a player guaranteeing a goal for another player. Kessel is mercurial and super weird so I have to believe Malkin knew what he was doing.
